Page loading speed because of connect.facebook.net ?

So lately I started noticing pages loading extremely slow if loading at all. When trying to figure out what was delaying the page load I noticed Chrome saying: waiting for connect.facebook.net, my guess it’s the Facebook like button or something similar.
So how do I make the pages load at a decent pace again, well use an ad-blocker to block connect.facebook.net. This has worked for me.

As a chrome add-on I can recommend Adblock it’s being used by ~10M people, so I would guess it’s pretty safe. Just remember to allow ads on the pages you want to support, it’s possible to disable the add-on for single page or a domain.

How to block it in Adblock:
Click on the Icon -> Options -> Customize -> Manually edit your filters -> Write: connect.facebook.net – remember to click save.
